St. Patrick's Day Snacks For Kids

St. Patrick’s Day is just a week away so I decided to make some fun St. Patrick’s Day Snacks for my boys this week. Here are some of the ideas I came up with.

St. Patrick’s Day Snacks

Fruit Rainbow

To make this beautiful fruit salad, I placed an assortment of fruits in a rainbow shape onto my plate. I used strawberries, oranges, green grapes, kiwis, blueberries, and purple grapes. My boys loved this healthy fruit snack and completely cleared their plates!

Pot of Gold

My boys requested Nutella sandwiches for lunch so I decided to turn their sandwiches into pots of gold. I simply cut their sandwiches into the shape of a pot using kitchen shears. I then added banana slices for the gold. I used green peppers for grass and an orange slice for the sun. My boys really enjoyed this simple but super cute lunch!

Little Leprechaun

This adorable leprechaun was lots of fun to make and my boys really got a kick out of it. I made the leprechaun’s hat out of cucumber. The buckle was made from a piece of cheese. Carrots made our leprechaun’s beard. I used blueberries for his eyes, a tomato for his nose, and a slice of strawberry for his smile.

St. Patrick’s Day Pasta

Last year I found a delicious St. Patrick’s Day Pasta that consisted of a homemade cheese sauce. This year I cheated but my boys were just as happy with the results. To make this green pasta I used a box of Annie’s Organic Shells and White Cheddar Mac & Cheese. While the pasta was boiling, I steamed some organic broccoli florets. When the broccoli was done, I mixed in the milk that the Annie’s pasta called for, as well as the powdered cheese, and mashed it all together. Once I had a creamy sauce, I poured it over my pasta shells and mixed everything together. This is a great way to pasta green without the use of food dyes!

Shamrocks

These shamrock PB&J and Nutella sandwiches were also a hit with my boys. To make them, I simply used a small heart shaped cookie cutter and made three hearts for each sandwich. I assembled the hearts together to make shamrocks. I used some of the extra bread to make the stems. I dressed up the plate a bit with some melon balls. Yummy!
